Pest Identification

Nicholas County residents may submit insects, diseased plants, or weed specimens for identification and control recommendations.
Place your insect or diseased plant or weed in a plastic bag that seals and drop them off at the Extension Office, 715 Main Street, Ste 100, Summersville, WV 26651

Worried about getting Lyme Disease from a tick? A tick has to be attached for 36 hours to transmit the disease. If you’re experiencing flu-like symptoms after a tick bite, you can have the tick tested by sending it to the University of Massachusetts for testing. There is a $40.00 fee for the basic Lyme test.
